Soft launch of our Booking System - reserve below

We’ve seen an increase in recent months of our peers being referred to us from the NHS, private practitioners and other local organisations.

It’s absolutely amazing to hear that our support group is being recommended and the word is getting out there! And we want to ensure that the quality of our sessions remains unchanged with this increase in demand.

We’ll be treating November as a ‘soft-launch’ period, so we can address any teething issues and feedback that comes up. We appreciate this is an adjustment, so please don’t hesitate to email or come and see us in person at the group if you are having difficulties with the new system - we’re always here to help.

FAQs and our full meeting calendar are below the booking section, and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us

 FAQs

  • We believe that self-realisation is as valid as an official diagnosis. Even if you only identify as having some traits or only meet some of the criteria, we still believe that this is a really helpful and healing space where you’ll meet other people who share similar experiences. Also, a lot of the resources and skills we share are beneficial to everyone, regardless of diagnostic status.

  • As much as we want to meet all peers where they are at, we are not qualified to provide support to people who are in active crisis, and would not recommend attending the sessions if you are highly distressed.  However, there are several wonderful organisations in Bristol that will be able to help - click here for our Crisis Signposting

    1. Go to the top of Our Meetings page

    2. Scroll down to see available session dates, and press ‘Book’

    3. Sessions are free to book (with an optional £3 donation). Fill in your contact details, agree to the Terms & Conditions, and press ‘Book Class’

    4. You’ll then receive an confirmation email with the session information ˙

If the session is fully booked, you’ll have the option to be added to the waiting list for that day - this is located below the session listing. If a space opens up, you’ll be automatically emailed with a confirmation.

  • BPD & CPTSD Support Group Meetings are held in-person at:

St Werburghs Community Centre, Horley Rd, St Werburgh's, Bristol BS2 9TJ

As you come into the community centre you’ll see the group listings on a screen behind the front desk - we are usually based in Room 7, but please check the screen for updates.

St. Werburgh’s is easily reachable by public transport or on foot. There is limited parking available on Gatton Road.

Full advice on travel routes is available on the Community Centre ‘How to find us’ page

The venue is fully accessible. If you have any requirements that you would like to inform us of beforehand, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

  • There will be 10 spots available for each meeting, so 12 people in total (including group facilitators)

  • During our soft launch over November, we’ll be as accommodating as possible whilst everyone adjusts to the new process. From December onwards, you will not be able to join the meeting if you do not having a booking

For first-timers and those who are not aware of the booking system, we will allow them to join the group and take the opportunity to show them how to reserve a spot for next time. This means some groups may be bigger than 12 - but we’ll manage this as much as possible

  • We will list sessions up to two weeks ahead, and aim to have new sessions available every Tuesday or Wednesday. We recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment

  • Please ensure that you book one spot per person. This will have to be done from separate email addresses

  • You are absolutely welcome to join the space with us at the blended group meetings, and we would love to have you there.

However please know that this is not a support group for loved ones, and that you are invited into the space to learn more about BPD and C-PTSD from people with lived experience.

If you would like to join a friends and family support group, we recommend SW Carers 4 BPD

  • We encourage peers to cancel as soon as they know they won’t be able to attend, so we can open up the spot to those on our waiting list

We appreciate that plans can change, so there are no penalties for cancellation

  • If you do not cancel your booking properly and are a ‘no-show’ for three sessions, we will contact you to discuss this, and reserve the right to refuse any future bookings

  • We will continue to list our planned holidays on the website (at the top of the Meetings page and on the full calendar), via email (to our newsletter subscribers) and in person at the meetings

  • Unfortunately St Werburgh's operate a no-pet policy, with the exception of service animals. We are exploring another location for a second weekly meeting, which we will ensure is pet-friendly :-)

The Bristol BPD Collective believes that everyone has inherent worth and dignity, and deserves to feel love, belonging and to find their tribe.

Regardless of diagnostic status, the BPD & CPTSD Support Group welcomes anyone who lives with BPD/EUPD, CPTSD, anyone who identifies as experiencing emotional dysregulation and strong emotions, and other BPD traits.

“It is hard to be happy without a life worth living. This is a fundamental tenet of DBT. Of course, all lives are worth living in reality. No life is not worth living. But what is important is that you experience your life as worth living—one that is satisfying, and one that brings happiness.”
